A Spring for Ali
A short documentary film

I grew up hearing the stories of my great-grandfather, Ali Taweel, Ali the Tall, who at six years old crossed the sea in a barrel and later escaped a war camp they never taught me about in American schools. As an adult, I returned to my father's native Lebanon, and, unable to find my great-grandfather's grave, endeavored to build a memorial for him in the mountains of Lebanon.
A Spring for Ali was shown in film festivals from Seattle, USA to Beirut, Lebanon and won a student documentary award at the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival.
